  1. Good job! I hope your wife enjoys the Twenty as much as mine does. We did manage to get in a bit of riding at the NC beach a few weeks ago before I had to head out to the Midwest for a month or so worth of work.

  2. Good morning Aaron!

I think she's warming up to the idea. We are headed to the Oregon Coast this summer and I wanted her to at least try out her Twenty before it became her primary mode of transportation for a week.

I'm looking at a Raleigh Superbe as a match to her Raleigh Sport as our main rides. You've done work on older 3-speeds other than Twenty's? I may be hitting you up for some advise!

    Have a great weekend

  3. Just a few...according to my bride there are 20+ bikes in the shop and about half of those are IGH 3 speeds most of British origin.

I really enjoy my Superbe and just picked up a Raleigh Tourist. Hard to beat the reliabilty and ease of repair of the old Raleighs, Raleigh clones, and other British bikes. Parts are still relatively easy to find.

  5. Aaron, you are inspiring me! I've got a bid on a Raleigh Tourist on eBay right now. Doubt I'll get it though. He must have a pretty high reserve set on it. It is a 1980 in spectacular condition though. My wife's Raleigh Sport is a 1980 too, so at least they'd be of the same vintage. Got my fingers crossed. The bike is in Gig Harbor, WA. About an hour drive for me, so I can bid high to save shipping.

@MartinHartley: I'm on the RaleighTwenty blog of yours.. my nom du plume is blackbrrrd.

  6. Keep looking, bikes pop up in the most unlikely places. Almost all of mine have been obtained because a friend or acquaintance called them to my attention. Being known as that crazy guy that likes old British Bikes doesn't hurt.
